Found a set of Cragars via email/telephone. Lady bought them to fit a '65 Mustang but the bolt pattern is too small. What's the chances they will fit a '69 Firebird? Is the GM pattern bigger or smaller than a Ford? They are not unilug as the bolt holes are round. Thanks

Most Fords and Chrysler products were 4-1/2", most GM were 4-3/4". Some Chryslers were 4". If you're sure the pattern on the WHEEL is the one that's too small to fit a Mustang, then it soulnd like they're for an early Dart or something. If she means the pattern on the CAR is smaller, you might be in luck.
Measure the distance between two non-adjacent holes, edge to edge. If it measures 4-1/2", it's a GM wheel. If it measures less, it's not. This is not the bolt circle, because you don't measure across the full diameter, but it's an [easily confusable] way to tell. This may be how she got the wrong ones in the first place; some people believe that the inter-hole dimension is the bolt pattern number, while it's really the diameter of the circle the holes fit into. |

Here's a quote from her.
"They are 14 x 7. They measure 2 1/2" between holes and 3 3/4" across the holes." Sounds like they are too small. Any ideas what they do fit? She said they are barely too small for her Mustang. |
