Default Good Ole Gary

I guess maybe I was one of the more fortunate ones in dealing with him. I recently bid on some back window chrome for a 69 Lemans and received it within reasonable time (1 1/2 weeks after he received payment). It was in very good condition no dings, no tweaks, and had very nice polish work on it. I did think the price was a little stiff though, but I'm used to buying parts for Chevrolets and they are a little easier to find and a little less expensive. I didnt like the private auction deal either, surely he's got someone jack'n the bids. I'm glad I ran across this thread, because even though my experience with him wasn't bad I dont push my luck! Bidders / Buyers beware

Andre, I'll bet there are a lot of people here who didn't have the misfortune to know Fitz. You might want to elaborate.

I'm going to try and show some restrain and not discuss what happened there. It is almost surreal, and like something out of "Goodfellas" or "Casino"

Check out e-snipe.com
I use it all the time, never loose. With ebay, i found I was driving the price up when i got excited. Ya go to e-snipe, put in your bid and wait, 6 seconds before the end, it bids, no one can bid that late, and be sucessfull, their clock is set to ebays, with in something like milliseconds.Since I have used them things have been great.
I bought some stuff from Garys' back in the "hemmings" days, was scary to say the least. Parts where so-so, attitude was terrible on his part. Gave up trying to get a refund, and the part is on my shop wall, and i stare at it once in a while and can do nothing but laugh now.....i'm all outta tears.

Yes, Someone did awhile back and needless to say he wasn't happy. He said that Chris is lucky that he hasn't been sued yet. I would probably end this thread if I was a moderator. Just my 2 cents.

Default The truth

I can't see where Gary has a problem when people are telling their stories truthfully. That seems to me to be the purpose, to tell the story and to inform. Just my 2 cents. It is expensive enough to buy parts, but no-one wants to throw money at their car. Bill

I bought a refinshed dash from him, it was unacceptable, but he did refund my $$.

This information network is for our protection. It's only slander if it isn't true. Apparently Gary realizes this, hence no action taken. Chris is to be commended for providing this service. I, for one, appreciate it. Best way to cover your butt is to be a straight shooter and take an honest approach. Everyone in the Pontiac parts circle pretty much knows who they can and cannot trust, and that's the way I like it.

Default great parts for the lazy ebayer

I'm new to the hobby and was not aware of the resources available to buy parts. Performance years(my favorite) Ames, OPG, Year one and so forth.
I purchased several parts from gtogoodies and was very pleased with the service and quality, however in hindsight pretty expensive. With a little research and patience most of these parts are available just as nice for less money. As far as the ebay auction part of it, people are waiting till the end to see what price these items are at and if still in price reach bidding in the final minute to give them a better shot at winning. If your bid goes in with little time left it is very hard for someone to outbid you. I put a used shifter hump on ebay for $.99 and let the auction go without a buy it now or reserve
and it sold for over $70.00. The same one is available new from OPG for $43.00. A perfect case of someone else(other than me this time) buying something under the ellure of ebay without doing research.
