The Sherwin Williams Magenta Mica is formula number 59338 in their Ultra 7000 series of paints. It appears to be a mix of Maroon, copper pearl, and clear if I am reading the can correctly

Bryan,
you have probably seen this site for all the original color codes available in 1967: http://autocolorlibrary.com/acl_files/pontiac.html I know it's hard to see what the color will really look like from this, but if you find a local PPG Paint dealer and have them mix up a small batch from the number to see what you think. Good luck! Liam |

Hey John, what color is that? I love it. Is that the factory color? |

Bryan, It is supposed to be factory Burgundy (paint code N). What we did was take the original fender extension where there was some very good factory paint still intact and put it under a spectrogram?? not sure of proper term but any body guy would know. This supposedly told them what the paint was made of and they made a custom mix from that. It is not exactly the same as the original paint (I saved the fender ext and used another one) but it looks very nice and has a bit more pearl than original. My wife likes it and this is her car (factory A/C and automatic) so that is what matters. Good luck with your decision.

Ron, The Burgundy 66 Post is actually a two stage paint with 10 coats of clear. This photo was taken literally 2 hours after the car was cut and buffed so yeah it does look awesome. Thanks. I can't wait to get it on the road.

Thanks, GTO JOHN
It is PPG base coat Clear coat. They call it a poly.... it is stronger than some, but not like the old polyurathane the truckers used. This was a few months back in Dallas at the pontiac southern nats. The paint was put on in 1998 and still looks good. But it spends most of its time inside. |
