Question correct carb for '67 gto "WS" engine?

Have several books, (1 by Pete McCarthy, and 1 by Paul Zazarine) and they differ in their answers. Anybody have a survivor that can help? Car is not an "A.I.R." car, but a "49 state" car. Thanks, Don

Rochester and Carter made Q Jets for 1967.

Correct part number is 7027263 for 49 states.

Rochester is the more prefered unit. It will have a stainless steel disc on driver side - about dime sized with part number, plant code, and date code impressed into it.

Carter will have part number stamped into actual carb body on driver side (like 1968 and newer have). They didn't use the dime sized disc.

ooops, looks like Carter may have done it both ways. I've only had 2 Carter 67 Qjets and neither had disc provision. Possibly they were SR ? idunno

I've had 7 various 67 Rochester Qjets (262,263,272) all had the disc.

Any of them with the disc will probably be the most sought after. Good eye silver67.

Thanks for everybody's input. I have a Quad #7037263. Zazarine says it's correct for the "WS"...if it isn't, to what does it belong? P.S. It doesn't have the "disc". Don

Well gosh-darn , why didn't you say so.

That's the California (1-state) carb for 67 manual tranny. Would be correct for your Car if it were built in California plant. Some Cars were built in Cali but shipped to dealers in other states - a lot of them still had the Cali emissions installed.

Is it a Carter or a Rochester ? Does it have a place (recess) for the disc ?

7037263 is the service replacement, i believe
made in the 70's

they didn't make the disc ones anymore in the 70's - so they stamped them on the side like the later carbs

it's technically correct...but might lose a few points
and not worth as much as a disc one

i've got a 7037262 i had cliff go over
