Parisanne engine swap Question
I have an 86 Parisanne that has a computer controlled Q-jet, 700 R-4, 307 olds from the factory. I am going to swap in a real nice low mile 403 that I took out of my 79 T/A Here are the questions:
1.When I swap the engine over to the 403 should I keep the computer controlled Q-jet carb from the 307 to make the tranny shift properly? 2.Or should I keep the 403 intact from carb to pan andeleiminate the computer,What will I need to make the 700R-4 work with the 79 403 carb? 3.I am changing the rear gears 3:42 gear with a posi unit do you think these gears will work well with the 700R-4? 4.Headers who makes a set that will fit nicely in this chassis using the T/A 403? I am building a kit car with this Parissanne you can see the kit at www.superstepside.com . I have the kit and I am getting ready to build.when I am finished the car will weigh @ 3100-3200 lbs.it should be real nice. This kit is very nice and complete.I have spent a lot of time making it a little different.I hope to have it painted and rolling by Norwalk It will be my Cruising car. Thank you Mark Ball/Cruiser |

If you use a non lockup converter you should be able to eliminate the ECM.

I would start with the 307 feedback carb and see how it does. You can easily switch later. 342 should be fine with the od trans. I think headers are not worth the trouble for this application (cam, heads, weight)
Sounds like a fun prject. |
