Default We have ignition!

Well today was the day my son and I have been shooting for. Finally we got the 78 T/A 400 back together and rumbling this afternoon. We couldnt have gotten this far without searching on this website for info since this was our first engine. We bored the block 30 over with 6x4 heads,068 cam ,summit headers and Purple Hornies. (I know but the kid's 14 thats what he likes!) LOUD. We broke the cam in and she wants to run a little hot, but We'll get that sorted out. Just a good feeling to hear her run that first time! Thanks guys.

So awsome! You are very lucky to be able to do a great father-son project like that. Hope the smiles per mile stay high as you put some miles on that thing.

Thumbs up

Sounds like you've put together a nice 400.

Should run surprisingly well and be very reliable, it doesn't take much to make these engines into great performers.

Have fun with it.
