I can go to a ladder bar easily. I run long ladder bar slappers. I dont have the chips to have it converted now.
I want to run split leafs and caltracs. Maybe when the car comes apart to paint it in a few years I can convert to ladder bar. My rear frame rails are untouched. John |

i know first and second gens are different, but mine is mini-tubbed without touching the frame rails. i'm running 29.5x10.5W slicks on 15x10 draglites with stock length rear axles. how does my tire size compare to the 315 drag radials you guys are running?

When I compared 295 vs 315 the tire height was actually less for the 315 but an inch wider.

The stock inner wheel wells can be moved in 2 ½” per side by cutting the inner section, relocating it inward and adding a strip of sheet metal to fill the gap. The frame section at the wheel well must be move to acomplish this.
The same process can be used to relocate the rear section of the original frame and leaf spring, the front section of the frame does not need to be moved. As mentioned before the tank will no longer fit, a 10 gallon unit from a Vega (if they are still available) will bolt in place with room to spare, modifications are required to the top of the tank as well as the fuel inlet. Sorry about the quality of the pictures, this 67 was modified in the 70’s, obviously in need of a face lift. This can be done with all original parts and a few strips of sheet metal. The shocks will need to be relocated inward. When completed, 12" wide slicks will fit with ease. I hope this helps. |

I beg to differ on the rear frame rails - mine are untouched on my Ventura. The inner wheel well has been sectioned and moved in even with the exisitng OEM fram rail.
I have more then enough space to fit a 315 tire IF it didn't hit the leaf spring. John |

I think they are 275-50-15. They look big. It's been a long time since I bought them. It's taken 3 years to get this far.

The M/T radials Dave has look the same as mine. 275/60/15
I fit a 30" x 10.5" x 15" Hoosier radial slick right now with no tubing or moving anything in my 68. 4 1/2" BS rim with a 1/2" spacer. The 9" rear I have in it now is 3/4" total wider than the original 8.2 was. I did go to the stock size Calvert Split leaf to do this as the multi leafs I had before had the body down an 1". I run slide a links as well. Stock shackles.

This is an example of what can be done if more room is needed. The rear of the frame rails and leaf springs were moved inward, they are now parallel with each other. |

OK, yes the rear of my spring is further out than the front and this is where the conflict is.
