Default TH400 Swap 65 GTO

I have swapped out my pglide for a TH400 from a 65 GRAND PRIX,with the longer tail shaft I now have an emergency brake cable problem,cable is on the drive shaft,it needs to be moved? I need a solution!!! Thanks

A bodys need the short tail shaft TH400 to avoid this issue. If you want to use the one you have you will either need to McGyver a solution or go without an ebrake

I think even with a short tail 400 you need to change something...I think you need to get a 67 GTO/TH400 specific cable.

Can anyone verify if this is correct, and any changes to the hooks?

I ran into the same exact issue when I installed a short-tail TH400 in my '64 GTO. At the time (15 years ago) I was getting the car ready to go bracket racing, so I made up and installed a couple of cable guides that I attached to the driveshaft safety loop I was using. It works okay, but really won't tug the cable tight enough to get full e-brake holding power.

I didn't consider the '67 GTO pieces, they are one-year-only parts that would work out perfectly. You'll have to get all the cables, both the front one that attaches to the e-brake pedal and the rear one that goes to both rear brakes as well as the cable guide hook that goes to the crossmember I would assume.
