Default transmission linkage

hey guys does anyone have pictures or a diagram like shop manual on the tranny linkage for a 1980 trans am with th-400. i took m tranny out to put in a new torque converter and now the cable wont reach teh hole for the little bolt that hold the cable to the inkage. srry so confusing

You only dropped your trans, and put it back? Need to know what all you did, should just be held by two of the pan bolts, and with the shifter all the way forward in park, and the shift arm on the trans moved all the way in park, it should match up.
