Default manual shift shaft seal, 63'

any of you guys have a problem with the seal that the shifting rod goes into the trans, leaking? This is my second trans I've had in the car. and they have both leaked.This one I have in now is really bad. any ideas?

A Corvair seal will probably work; it is available from Clark's Corvair Parts, their part number C497: http://www.corvair.com/user-cgi/cata...=MAIN&page=115
I had to add bushings in my transmission case in the the shift shaft bores.

thanks for your idea, I've used Clarks before for some rear swing arm bushings and they were a great help. I,m pretty sure they'll work too.

I added the bushings as part of my transmission rebuild during restoration of my 65 Corsa, but it keeps the shaft from moving radially and pushing against the seal inner diameter. I still get a "weep" of fluid out at the shifter, but not a "leak".
