Nice looking piece. All 1 of akind parts? Billet block and heads? Should make some good power and put others out of reach. Any of those parts forsale on the open market. I'm sure they would love to sell me a set of those heads.

The second pic in post #2 shows the name machined on the head as being "Warp 6" ???

Though I would agree that mach 6 would be a better "moniker",I dont think I would name a head Warp anything myself,,,just not a good verbal association to make when refering to heads or blocks or such.

I inspected the block, as I mentioed in another post, and it looked like it has a lot of potential for racing.

I would have been happier if it was a "skirted block" (with the cross-bolted mains) like the typical very high hp race blocks (like the Hemi, the Ford 427 and 427 SOHC engines) and the factory aluminum GM LS-X blocks/ Ford Modular blocks.

GM rarely makes block mistakes and their new block could have been designed any way they wanted it to be. They went with the skirted block/ cross bolted mains for a reason.

You can get by with the splayed cap block deal if you do it correctly but the deal is you have to do it correctly.

Tom, with it being billet, making it skirted and cross-bolted (like the proven Hemi) would just be a matter of changing the program in the machine, no? Alot of thinking going on there with the Hemi style pump extension (which is also driving the mag and what appears to be an external oil pump), but that seems like an awful lot of weight to be hanging out there without an additional support. Still see no crank snout bearing support...a combo like that sure could use one.

Mach/Warp...yea my brain doesn't work as well as it used to...anyway I was more excited to see anything connecting a PSI SCREW SUPERCHARGER to a PONTIAC BLOCK. Check out the little itty bitty pulley on top!

That stuff looks great. Can I buy those parts from KRE. I want to build a blown-up alcohol motor and I hear there the best source for parts.

Nope JC I walked right up to Bill Mellott when he was standing there next to it and ask if he could give me some info on it. Both Boys and Steve was also close by. Like I said before it was a real nice looking piece. Too bad Scott M did not get pics of the crank side of the aluminum block. Bill turned the block over on the stand for me and it looked really nice too. Not quite finished but well on its way.

Speaking of Bill Mellott...whatever happened to that Pro Mod '65 GTO that Tootie's was building for him? Did he ever get the unfinished car back, or did they run off with that too (along with his deposit)?

Bill told me he purchased a different car as the 65 GTO was not finished. Not my business on his legal issues with the company who has the 65 Chassis.

Was just wondering if he had settled with them yet. I know there are others in his same boat that put deposits down and had half-completed cars in their shop when they closed and ran off.

Why did'nt you feel this way about the MR-1 deal? Your opinions were quite strong based on someone elses legal issue there!

Obviously you don't understand the difference:

1) The MR-1 Block deal had potentially major SAFETY ISSUES for anyone using that block at racing speeds. It was a SAFETY CONCERN.

2) Bill Mellott and the Chassis Builder having a disagreement over a car build has no safety concerns and is purely a legal matter.

Safety is a big deal for me. I was a National Tech Inspector for 13 years and always considered the driver's safety number 1 on my list.

I am not condemning the craftmenship of the work or KRE but.... what part of a Pontiac is that????? It would be hard to convince other brand race people that that is a real Pontiac! The heads look like a SB Chevy splayed valve head! If KRE did not make it, would it be allowed to run in the Q -16?

When is it not a Pontiac anymore?
