Default GM radio code PH# needed.

I have a used car lot and at times get a GM vehicle that needs the radio reset. I have a procedure from one of the web sites I go to about how to extract the radio numbers. The 1-800 number that was given just rings busy right away. As if it's no longer good. Can anybody help me with getting the proper 1-800#?

It is just time consuming having to take our vehicles to the GM dealer to get this done when we could do it ourselves. TIA

Just talked to one of our mechanics and they have to physically have the car and go through a set of steps to retrieve the code. Newer cars need what they call a tech2 to get the code.

Have you tried what the owners manual says. My GP has a section on it.

You now need a dealer code when you call into Delco to get the factory unlock code.
Did you get the code from the radio yet. Its usually 4-6 digits long.
Most theftlocks are done by holding 1=4 or 2=5 then hitting fm/am for the last of the number.
What are you working on.
The later stuff you need a tech 2 to reprogram but thats usually only for an update or radio r&r.
Post the number and ill get it for you.

Ya, normally you only need the tech 2 when changing the Vin's, swapping the radios from car to car.

I have the dealer code and know how to get the radio code. I just need to get the "Delco" ph#.? What ever the 800# is. I just took one vehicle to the dealer and have one more to do. It's a 96, the last one was a 2000. I'd rather not have to send down the road to do that, if I can. I know how to do the Honda cars if anybody needs help that way.

I was reading this post and I'm wondering if you could help me get the radio code for a 1999 sunfire. My daughter left the lights on and drained the battery, now the radio is locked out. I followed the steps I found online to retrieve the code to obtain the reset code and it is 452455. If you could supply the code and instruction to reset it that would be great. The dealer just reset this radio for us about a month ago and I thought the reset code was written on the work order but it isn't. If I can avoid going back to them I will. It sounds like they are going to charge me to do the whole proceedure again. Thanks
