jyd, i'd not try for 9's in back...i'd go 8"
those are 4.25 backspaced. i'll check out the profile; it seems lotsa stuff got screwed up when the board changed. the fronts, i think, will be too tall. i usually recommend folks stay 16" or shorter on box a-bodies. i have a phone # for coys if you wanna call me at work; i can also sell them to you if you like. they're a brand new company; the wheels are done in china; coys is located in utah; i believe it to be a family business. -mike

Curious SpeedShopMike, why do you usually recommend 16s on A-bodies? Also curious when your going to post a pic of this 'item' all are talking about! |

hwy, dunno what item you're talking about - think u have me cornfused w/ somebody else ont hat one.
usually recommend 16's for a bods b/c it lets one have a little more sidewall height for a given overall diameter; most guys with box a bodies tend toward the traditional. also, a bodies, unless the front end is done right, have a terrible camber curve; the lower the tire profile the more inclined the suspension will be to lever most of the tread off the ground under said camber change, actually lessening contact patch. think about it...

I picked up some ROH ZR6 rims from a 94 FIrehawk. I like the deeper dish of them. I need a taller tire as the Firestones on there are 1/2 shorter than the Goodyears I am running on my white rims. This will help fill up the wheel well.
I have some 255/45/17 tires that should be perfect on the 8.5 rim. I post pics next week when I get these tires mounted, but here are a couple of pics of them as they are now. |

jyd:
"unless the front end is done right" refers to correcting the camber curve and why not to use big bars all round if you have fixed the front end

18s and 45-series tires?
I wonder how 18s and 45-series tires would look on a second gen?
255-45-18s front and 295/45/18s rear? Would the fit/clear? That would put the rears at 28.45-inches tall overall... Anyone fit a 295/45/18 on the back yet??? I really like the 50-series tires on those 17s btw! V/R, Ty p.s. They cleared on Andrew Borodin's GTO in HPP? http://www.lateral-g.net/borodin/

Hahaha, when it stops being a daily driver, sit in traffic car, unless you have got a complete from shifter to pilot bearing TKO setup lying around for relatively cheap.
When you gonna paint your car? :P
