Default 403 swap

I was wanting to know what it takes to make a 72 455 olds motor fit in a 1979 trans am ? If anyone could help that would be great . Also heard the shaker might not work.anyone know? Thanks alot .

I've NOT done the swap personally,but understand that if you are starting with a 403 T/A,it's pretty much a "no brainer".

Your shaker to hood clearance is almost NIL,but the hood will still close with shaker in place.

It is a no brainer........however the 455 is slightly taller and wider, if the stock 403 mounts are used the 455 WILL sit higher but Im not sure how much higher
