Update on the '78
I don't think I posted anything on my 78 since I bought the car in early December and did the cam install. I was on the fence on if I was going to do a total frame off on it or just do a cosmetic resto but I was kind of forced into making the decision a few weeks ago. My daily driver '88 GTA unfortunatly had an altercation with a deer late on a Tuesday night. The car isn't too bad and can be fixed but I will need to gather parts up for it. The '78 wasn't that far off from being a driver so I went ahead and got it ready. I replaced the rear driver seat pan, put in a new clutch, and put an american thunder Flowmaster exhaust under it. I did away with the delta flow 40s they supply and put a set of standard 40s on it. With the H crossover and the cam I installed I swear, it sounds like a really loud 5.0 mustang. Im trying to decide if I want to get rid of the H to get that lower pontiac rumble that I am used to, but It does sound awfully good. I've been driving it around since Friday and I have to say, what started as a fever since I was 4 years old for one of these cars has turned into a terminal illness. It makes me proud to finally own a real car. I mean don't get me wrong, I love my bonnevilles and my 3rd gen T/As but when you say that you own a 4spd '78 SE T/A and it runs and sounds like mine it does nothing but make you smile. I'll try to get a short vid of it later in the week. I have to bleed the brakes in it tomorrow as the pedal is a little sponge-like. Gotta go, there is beer in Texarkana......
