66 GTO Dash wires
When I purchased my 66 GTO it was all apart. I'm trying to install a new wiring harness under the dash. I have purchased the 1966 GTO wiring schematic, however it looks like I have twice as many wires and some of the colors are missing. Is there any good infromation out there to help with wiring?
Thanks, Bob |

Does the wiring schematic you bought include all individual option details that the 66 service manual includes? I would pick up a 66 service manual of off EBay if you can.

GTO Dash wires
No, it only has a few pages that are general to all the models.
I will check out the shop manual. Thanks, Bob |

I got a large laminated, color coded wiring diagram on ebay last year. (think they come in two sizes) Very handy and not as unwieldy as the book. (which you should also have)

Most of the wiring that goes to the cluster is either plug-ins or round metal sockets. All of the plugs are designed so that it's virtually impossible to plug the connector into the wrong place on the back of the cluster. All of the sockets, most of them are for dash nighttime driving, the rest are for turn signal, high beam indicator & gen warning light, on cars without rally gauges you also have round lights, sockets; for oil pressure & water, (coolant) temperature.
