I just use the cheep universal one from the auto parts store. There not water proof but they dry very fast and keep the dirt off.

A friend of mine has 50+ A body Olds's, so of course some have to sit in the open. I asked him about that and covers; his response form hard experience is no cover, as the wind will slide the cover around and chafe the paint.

I'm more concerned with water getting inside vs wind. The paint is junk anyway.

If that is the case just a waterproof tarp. Allot cheaper and you can bungee strap it tight.

California Cover has them. They have a guide that helps you choose the conditions and stuff, I've looked at it before and I've heard they're pretty good.

NOAH, available from many sources has worked well for me. It does a decent job of keeping dust and UV rays out. It is water resistant but not water proof. It breathes so it lets moisture out. This is more important than being water proof. You need to let water vapor out.

One of the GTO's is outdoor's under a carport, use a California car cover and then cover that with a cheap Pep Boy's cover.

Thumbs up

Another vote for the Noah cover. They last about 3-4 years in the SoCal sun, and are guaranteed for 4yrs.: replacement or repair @ Cal Cover's discretion.

Car cover for outside conditions? Send me a PM, I'll sell you mine dirt cheap! My T/A finally found a home in our garage! I purchased this "fitted" car cover from PY or Ames approximately 5 years ago and it was fairly expensive ($150-200). The cover was only used for about 3 years on my 78 T/A. It has been stored in the garage ever since. The only damage is cosmetic and on the rear portion of the cover (I left the cover on my T/A while I started the engine, which was running rich, and this left behind some soot stains). I'll try to find out the "make" of the car cover and can probably post or email you some pics.

I used the best California cover one winter in western Washington....the Noah IV or something like that. I was very dissapointed with the protection (or lack of protection) the cover offered.

I would get one of those portable carport things instead.

Wolf Noah, I had one on my SS Vert and one for the 77 TA. I love them both.

I use the ExtremeWeave from California Car Cover for my '65 300 'vert that is stored outside. Although it is expensive, this cover is excellent. I am in the process of restoring the car and the convertible top material has not been installed yet. Before I realized I should use a broom to prop up the cover during downpours, I woke up after a heavy rain and the cover had filled with water and drooped between the ribs of the top frame. The cover did not leak ONE DROP into the bare passenger compartment. Plus, on flat surfaces the water just beads off. It is an excellent cover and I would recommend this it to anyone. The problem with the NOAH is it soaks up the water during rainstorms where the ExtremeWeave sheds the water. CCC says it is 99% water resistent as it MAY leak slightly at the seams. I have not experienced any leaking. Here is the exerpt from California Car Cover's website:

Protect your car from the most extreme elements with our ExtremeWeave cover. It’s a lightweight material that is heat reflective and UV resistant. In addition the breathable fabric is durable enough to handle snow, rain. Easy to clean in your household washer and dryer. Includes drawstring bag for easy storage and All Weather Strapping system to hold the cover down under extreme weather conditions.

I use ExtremeWeave on my Mustangs and Chevy truck. Haven't had the GTO out in the elements to warrant buying one yet. Besides the car came with two so so fitting covers.

I have one of these on my 69 GTO donor and it works great. I bungied the centers to the frame at the bottom to stop the flapping in the wind.
