Default Carb question

I'm kinda new to my 77 T/A with the Quadrajet Rochester so I want to know how the choke works and how it effects the secondary linkage because mine isn't working right. My timing has been set right and the carburetor has been adjusted. I've done a lot to get this car on the road and this is the last thing keeping me back.

Thanks.

With cold engine put the pedal to the floor and release.
This will make the bimetal spring in choke hosing to close choke blade.
Start engine and the choke pull-off will open the chokeblade slightly to avoid load up, approximately .160 measured at rear edge of chokeblade and wall.
As engine gets hotter the bimetal in choke housing will let choke blade open fully due to hot air entering the choke housing thru the tube from intake.
The choke pull-off also controls the airvalves opening speed.

And when the choke is on it blocks the opening of the secondaries until the engine is warmed up.

Pick up Doug Roe or Cliff Ruggles respective books and you will learn/know more about Q-Jets than most speed shops.

Know where I can get that book at? And I'll try to post some pics when I have something other than my phone to take them with, hopefully soon.

Thanks.
