Jack,
It's very simple...you ask a lot of questions BEFORE you give ANYONE your money! I started building engines in '86., Before I had ANY machine work done, I went to an old friend(a retired USAC engine builder) and ask him who I should use. I called ALL the references he gave me. The ones who couldn't or wouldn't give me a straight answer I didn't use. Right now, I can name EVERY machinist I'll use in the Louisville area. There are ONLY 4!! |

Gentlemen,
In my case/this case, I bought something listed on Ebay with photographs from someone that I only heard/read good news about and had very good feedback at the time. I guess nothing is 100% except death and taxes. Even then, people will try to cheat both...

This is really odd seeming to me that a guy could go on ripping so many people off from what it sounds like from those who have posted up in this thread.
In such a tight nit and seemingly "everyone knows everyone" community also. These aren't Chevy's after all. I mean does this guy operate out of a store front? I don't mean to take this down to this level but if a business owner stole my money in such a blatant fashion and after multiple attempts to contact, it's not going to be that long before I burst through that front door ready to roll some heads.. and not the iron or aluminum type. Theft is theft, this is worse than someone stealing the heads off my engine at night when I'm sleeping and people get shot for that. I don't get it. I'd be afraid for my safety if I had wronged so many people. |

Andy is a thief and a liar. Luckily for him I live in Norway, but I got some buddies overseas. Strange that I just sold some valve springs to them that they could pick up at Andys store. LMAO

It makes you wonder how people like him and 'the flopper' can even stay in business with so much bad press out there about him.......

Andy Mitchell Pontiac 96 Heads Report
As I promised to everybody on this forum and PZ I took one of the heads to a very well known and respected engine builder here in town. He specialized in circle track and Pikes Peak Hill Climb engines but he has built alot of Pontiacs and is very Pontiac Smart. He is not a web surfer and has absolutely no knowledge about this case. I didn't even tell him the purpose of the test and who built the heads until after I had picked the heads up and put it in the trunk and paid him for his service. That is about as impartial as I can get.
Guide plates and studs were listed but not included. Below I will list the head flow for both intake and exhaust. Below hat I will attach the complete unedited Ebay listing for these heads. I wish I had a scanner to attach these. I read what you posted. I don't understand the point of this post.
Seller states original heads in correct original condition, no defects. He calls them hi-flow (marketing) but states they are stock, then rebuilt. I guess I just don't get it... :2cents:

This is the follow up from the previous (now closed) thread. I would've tagged it there if it was open. I have been asked alot about the heads hence the post. Did he deliver what he said? Yes and no. The heads are okay, the craftsmanship/machining is fine. Minus not getting the studs and guide plates I pretty much got what I paid for. The issue here was the battle to get what I paid for...
Here is the original thread if interested http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=580601

I don't think $750.00 is out of line for a set of fresh, well built #96 heads.

Yes, stupid me for waiting so long to take action. That is my fault for trusting him and his reputation. I wanted him to do a little additional port work/cleanup on the heads and was going to pay him the difference and he agreed.
did he do any porting?doesn't look like it. i would have sold you a set of 6X that flow 255@.550/260@.600 for 1000.00.didn't know you were looking.
