I owned a '78 Grand Lemans 4 door that I intended to be a daily driver until I found a bunch of hidden rust and parted the car out.
The cars are on frames. The differences between the Lemans, GL, and GA are essentially trim and performance stuff just like with, say a Tempest, Lemans, and GTO. Same bones for each of the three. |

I would recommend a 78 Pontiac sales brochure off of ebay. It'll give you some familiarity.
They all shared some of the same sheet metal, interiors, frame, chassis, and powertrains, along with the Grand Prix. |

The Grand Am has a different nose.
The Lemans dosn't have aluminized moulding that goes around the entire car. So, the Grand Am and Grand Lemans have different nose assemblies and different VIN's. Same doors, decklid, rear window, windshield and frame as the Malibu. |

Don't know for sure, but I highly doubt it, the header panel is different.

Tail Lights
For 1978 only, the Grand Am & Grand Lemans had the same tail light trim. Lemans had tail lights unique to itself.
In 1979, and 1980, each model had it's own distinct tail light trim/design. |

The hood will work, but only if you change the whole front clip.
So, no it won't interchange. |
