Ditto!

I wish I had that paint job on my truck. Just put it in a box and ship it to me!

(or - better yet - just fax it on over )

I could try, but I think it might come to you looking a bit flat....

Well, it's getting closer to being done.

Did a fair amount of detail work on the trim.

First of all I painted the white on the side moldings. Needless to say, taping them was a BIG PITA.

The I repainted the blacked out areas in the grille. Taping them off was actually a bit easier than the side trim but still pretty time comsuming.

Here's a comparison of one grille half painted and one not.

And a couple of shots of the car when I had it setting outside while I was painting the trim.

And one more of the grilles installed in the car. I darn near got wood when I set the first grille half in.

And that's all for now.

Time for bedtime.

Here's another update on the progress of the Catalina.

As you can see in the next couple of photos the exterior is pretty well finished.

Next step was getting the interior in. Here's a shot of the carpet underlayment.

And no it didn't fit that well out of the box. Here's most of the leftovers I had to trim off as I didn't want any doubled up.

Next was putting the carpet in. That took a fair amount of trimming too but it turned out nicely. Also you can see that the rear interior panels and seat are installed too.

And here's a shot of the interior finished. Looks pretty nice.

And here's a few shots of the door jamb area.

And a few of the trunk and underhood areas...

Well that's if for now......

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one thing in the last post.

It's done!!!!!!!

So does anyone want to see some photos of the finished car????

Silly question right?

Well here ya go.

Enjoy.

And one last photo with the proud owner before he loaded it in the trailer to take it back home.

And that's the end if this Pontiac journey. It's been a pleasure to share the ride with you folks.

That one turned out well Jeff. That's sharp car and now it's right.

So I have to ask, did you get paid in currencey or trade it out on tools?

Mike

Jeff,
You did a wonderful job. My only question is does it still have the slim-jim in it?

Thanks for the compliment guys! I was pleased and most importantly the owner was very happy with how the car turned out.

mike nixon: No I didn't trade any tools, it would have been nice as it would have saved me some $$ on interest for the new air compressor I bought from him. I just wasn't in a position to afford to do so at that them.

tigercars: Yes it still has the Slim Jim in it. Before he loaded it up to take it home we took it out for a drive and they are an interesting shifting transmission...
