When you say bent/rusty, I'm guessing you mean the 76 & up hoods.

Not a ton, maybe a couple hundred.

I bought a 76 for $20.00 !!! Someone should make the vents to go back in the plastic ones. Cut out all the old ones and have a whole new piece that goes back in. A lot of old hoods could be saved that way. Corners and cracks can be repaired.

Thats a Great Idea! I'd post it in the PY Stuff section ans see if they are interested,

I have 2 76 Formula Hoods and I have been trying to sell them for more than $20
For almost 10 Years now. I considered cutting a shaker hole in one and putting it
on my T/A to be different.

For a "rare" & "one year only" Hood it seem like Everybody has one for sale and no one wants one.

I think the cars they go on are more rare than the hoods themselves.
You need to find the right buyer, at the right time, close by, NO ONE
ever wants to pay to ship a cheap hood.

I haven't even got a 76, but for 20 bucks I bought it. Like you, I thought I would sell it at some point in the future. I have four plastic formula hoods and I think only one of them has all the vents in it and some of those are cracked.

I just paid $75 for a 76 Formy hood a few months ago for my wife's 76 Formy. I thought that was a good deal, $20?

I was picking up a 70 Firebird parts car I bought over in Alabama. The guys father had found the hood in a field at the edge of the road. His son had all GTO stuff so he never saw any Firebird people there. He just wanted to get rid of it and I had room on the trailer so the $20.00 hood is now sitting in my pile of extra hoods & fenders.

I need the driver side scoop from a 76 Formy hood..... If you'd be interested in selling the scoops without the hood. The cost of shipping the hood here to WI would be ungodly.

I want to keep the scoops with the hood I dont want to sell a hood
with no scoops and its in good enugh shape I dont want to junk it,
I have actually considered building my 75 Firebird into a 76 Formula Clone.

Here is a set of just the scoops for sale at the bottom of the page.
http://www.frankspontiacparts.com/us...irdtransam.htm

If you have the scoop and its just broken I have seen places that can do
welding or repairs to pot metal trim parts.

The material that 70-75 Formula hoods are made of is actually more of a plastic & isn't
really considered fiberglass.

If they were made of true fiberglass, they wouldn't break/crack as easily.
