Default 1975-78 Firebird A/C Wiring question

I tried this in the Heating Cooling section but I got no response,
Anyone here that can help?

I am converting my 75 Firebird's A/C to a 1978 style Accumulator & cycling Compressor,

Is there any reason to keep the ambiant temp switch from 1975? or is it just one more place for a problem if I run 3 switches to the compressor?

Also Just to test my knowlege on this-
1. The 1975 Ambient switch is to keep the compressor from running at temps
below 34 Degrees? - (I will need elimiate this for the 78 system right?)

2. The 1975 Superheat switch & fuse is to prevent copmressor damage
from a low refrigerant charge? (I will need elimiate this for the 78 system right?)

3. The 1978 Capillary Tube Temp switch is to keep the Evaporator from Icing Up
and cycles the compressor? (What temp does this switch off at so I can test it?)

4. The 1978 Pressure Switch in the liquid line prevents the compressor from
running with a low charge? (Any way to bench test one or just buy a new one?)

Am I correct on the purpose of these switches?

I was also wondering if anything protects the compressor from a high charge?
It looks like a pressure valve on the back of the 1978 A6 compressor is that what it is?
