Default Spindle/hub questions??

Wondered if you big car guys could help me out with a couple of questions?

1) Is the hub/spindle the same on a 59-64 Impala/Belair the same as a Pontiac?

2) If so, is there any other spindle a 59-64 hub will work on? A-body/B-body/F-body? Could have the spindle machined if necessary? Found a full set of front/rear Baer brakes for the Chevy and wondering if there is anyway I could use them on my '64 Lemans?

Probably a long shot, but thought for the price it's always worth a try?

Thanks in advance,
Bob

I copied this to the 61 and older up section also.

No on the Chevy. The ball joints and suspension are entirely different unless it's a Canadian Pontiac. The Canadian Pontiac and Chevrolet Shared a chassis, Domestic units had an entirely different one.

Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Caddy, Chevrolet B bodies all use their own chassis until late 1970 when they all went to a corporate suspension.

The A body cars used an entirely different chassis than the big cars.

Thanks Mike,
I had searched the messages and thought they were all different, but not being at all familiar with them I wasn't sure. With regards to the hub itself, does anyone know if it could be used on another spindle? Where could a guy find the measurements of the shaft section of the Chevy spindle that the hub mounts to determine if a Pontiac could be machined to fit? Have tried searching the internet but haven't had much luck.
Thanks again,
Bob

Contact Scarebird. He has a disc brake kit that works well.
