Default What does the inside of your garage look like?

Been working on building a garage/hidaway for a while and getting close to being ready to paint the inside. Looking for some ideas for colors/schemes. Garage is 24X30 with two 9X7 doors and drywalled and insulated. Plans are for the ceiling and upper portion to be white for light reflection. Mostly trying to figure out what to do with the bottom 32" or so. It is going to be a hobby garage and not so much a working garage. Any pic or advice appreciated.

Yours is the same size as mine except mine isn't drywalled. Just make sure you put light all around the near the walls and in the center to cancel out shadows. You just can't have enough light! What are your plans for compressed air and heating/AC?

Should be good on lighting. Have 9 8' T-8 fixtures each with 4 4' 4100k bulbs. Plenty bright now. As far as air compressor goes for now the Ingersol Rand 20 gal compressor will have to do. Have it wired for 220 to install a 60 gal vertical compressor in the future. The heat I am researching now. Looks like I will go with a garage heater that hangs from the ceiling. Debating between propane and electric. For now the torpedo heater is doing fine. Thanks for asking, hope to be done soon. This will be the first garage I've had. Been wanting one for many years.

Overhead heater is a good idea, no flammable fumes can get to it. Will your IR compressors pump and motor be big enough for a 60 gallon? You could just find a tank and adapt it onto it to save some money. I have an 80 Gallon CH made in the 70's that I scored for less than $200. It had a 3 phase motor so I located a motor that was single phase and did the swap. Runs like a champ. You can never have too much compressor. If you run air lines DON'T use PVC! run copper, it won't rust inside and the water will drop out quickly. I have a 25' hose reel mounted at each end of the garage and quickly realized just how lame 25' is when you need the air hose. Use 50' reels, it will keep the air hoses handy and makes them quick to stow away when not needed. My garage is a ****hole right now and needs a good purge. The one thing I did though was to make sure everything is on wheels so moving stuff around to get to something else can be done quickly and makes cleaning up easier.
Lets see some pics of your new man cave!

don't feel bad Paul I am in the same situation...... but the garage is 27deep x10 wide and I have to store my cars elsewhere as I use it for a hobby area . as for mine I finished it with firerock drywall and used 2 -8 foot 2 bulb fixtures to light it, the walls and ceiling are semigloss white and I took a light colored cheap paneling thats 48 inchs up the wall I nailed it without glue incase it has to be changed out .

sounds like mine when I got it , I added a few holes in the walls over the years ( frigin women ) I just patched them up , even with a primer coat of paint the room brightened up , when I pained the cieling it really got bright in there , next week I am putting carpeting down ( takeout from the living room ) so it isn't as cold for the dogs ( the furry ones, not my feet)and they will quit sliding when they play .
