Coca Cola Sign
Beautiful 1960 Coca Cola "Sled" style sign. Color and condition is fantastic. I have not seen another one for sale in better (or Equal) condition. One small chip and a factory smudge. Size is 68" x 24". If interested, I can take it to the Pomona swap meet this Sunday. $300.00 obo. Trade for a '62 LeMans Grill? Send me your email for pictures.

Hey, thanks! These are the signs that used to hang in front of general stores, drug stores, etc. They would often connect other signs to them, even lights. Buttons are more popular as they were produced from the 30's through the 70's. Be careful when buying a buttom, since they are the most reproduced Coke sign out there.

Oh yes, now I can remember seeing these. Rexall and/or other independent drug stores had these on the outside advertising their fountains I think.
A very nice sign looks to be in great shape. Jeff |

Button/Cap signs
Jeff I know what you mean about the Cap/Button signs.
I saw these still in use on this old store and would kill to get one I used to collect Coke stuff, but it, like most collectibles get pricey with time. Cheers

You are probably around the same age Jeff, and I also remember seeing many of those in my travels.
Many old rural store or small towns had the buttons plastered all over any type of store. I remember two in very nice condition in a small town over a pool hall sign. Turns out in the 80s there was a group of guys going around supposedly from the midwest who had an enclosed trailer with ladders inside and trap doors on the roof. They would pull under these signs and a guy riding in the back would pop up and cut the sign(s) off and into the trailer they went. Law Enforcement friend I talked with said they stole up in the millions of $ worth of these signs they think, about the time they got popular and big $$$. A friend owns a TOMS Snacks franchise in rural NC, and has amassed a lot of these old nice signs fronm backrooms of old guys who didnt hang them up. He has a set of the white bottle caps with the Coke bottle that are in new boxes! Jeff |
