Default Rubber bushing..top of cowl 73 TA?

I'm still waiting for my PY and Ames catalogs, but I didnt see this part available anywhere yet. Not sure what its called, so I'm having a hard time searching for it.

As you can probably tell, its under the front fender brace(s) where they attach to the cowl.

BTW, this place is amazingly helpful...Searching through all these threads have answered many questions..without having to ask.

That is a bushing that is mounted in the front bumper assembly and radiator support, not the cowl. If you are searching under "cowl" that would explain why you cant find it. The '73 bushing differs from the '70-'72.

Most of these where installed the opposite of what you have pictured. You might be able to turn these upside down (from what you have) and use the large slit washer that they came with. Not sure if you would have the washer on the under side of there or not.

There impossible to find but someone is re-poping something close and they are on ebay:

Wow, that is a good price on eBay.

PY also sells them for $145 and has them in stock, PN RFF17C.

Just tried to buy a pair of those $130.00 eBay bushings (sorry PY), but a window popped up saying "transaction blocked, seller can not receive funds". Never have run in to that before.

Actually, I've seen these mounted as pictured more often than upside down from pictured. Either way is correct.

Thanks for all the input.
I'll probably stay away from ebay and go with the known vendors like PY and Ames.

BTW
I just got my PHS documents today and discovered that the TA I've owned for 24 years was supposed to have the big bird hood decal!

Not sure how I feel about that as I've always been kinda anti bird
Almost like finding out your brother was adopted or something.

Mine were "cup up", but the car had definitely been apart a few times, so no telling how it was originally. About 12 years ago i made my own replacements from dodge dakota bed mount bushings. Still holding up well.

Started the teardown today..no turning back.

These are most definitely shot:

Question:
Is this the section to start a "build thread"?
I've been taking a bunch of pics so I can remember how this puzzle goes back together and thought I'd document the fun.

Found an little friends house between the endura nose and the bumper bar:

Just got back from Dayton and checked every 1973 car there and the results are Cup Up !
Mind you there is No reason for either installation but wanted to note that most cars are cup up as per my earlier comments(at least out of the cars I saw @ the Nats).
I also talked to many regarding placement and the average consensus is rubber up even though some cars have one of each and two cars and then up-side down or metal up.

Either way is correct since the factory had to apparent standards for the installation.

More tear down this weekend.

I may as well yank the motor and so It'll be easier to clean up all around.

Anyone have a good source of OE style AC lines? Hate these clamps, although they have worked for a long time..

Cool pictures and like the garage too. Nice and roomy and even have a metal lath!

If you going to post these a new thread might be in order for others to find and enjoy. Looks great and good luck with the build.

Default Need to replace mine also

Di i have to remove the front bumper to replace this Bushing? The previous owner fabricated a bushing that looks like crap. My radiator is out and I will be replacing the body bushings. Bottomline... how hard is this to replace these bushings? (other than the price!)
