Default Here's a Tough One

Would the interior from a 64 Grand Prix (buckets, console, shifter, rear seat), the power windows, and the floor pan work in my 63 Bonneville or is there something that I need to be aware of?

But the larger question is do I want to take apart a perfectly restorable 64 Grand Prix to spiff up the Bonneville? As a lifelong Pontiac guy there just seems to be something irreverent about doing that. But try getting a good interior out of a trashed out Grand Prix....all you'll get is trash. I just don't know if I can turn a perfectly restorable original Pontiac into a parts car. Isn't there something in the Bible about that?

Well, its your stuff! And yes it all fits Cept the power windows (glass) The motors and such should work. But Bonnies have a higher roofline making the windows taller. I'd save the GP if you can. I'd buy it if I had money.

Don't forget you will have to cut the bucket seat brackets out of the GP unless your Bonny already has them. Thus wrecking the floor.

I think it's your duty to save a gp if it's a good one (your words), repro door panels can be bought, so can seat covers, console, shifter, etc... get some cut out mounts from the dude in Indiana or somewhere, selling the good gp should pay for all that and then some, keep ALL good pontiacs on the road.

back in '89, I had the same decision to "save the strong, lose the weak" when choosing a project '62 GP over a cream puff Star Chief...glad I chose the GP.

Not only is it sacrilegious, but it's a felony in some states!

Agreed--unless it's a factory four speed, bucket Bonneville.

Bonneville stuff isn't that hard to come by, is it?

Your car and your money, do what seems right, but I would really try running down a proper Bonneville interior first, I like them better anyway. (No offense to GP'ers, it's the real leather in the Bonnie that melts my butter.)
