Default Documentation letter for my Bonneville..

I recieved a letter the other day from Steve Grothjan, whose fathers company Rayvic processed my 67 Bonnveille when new. He was nice enough to write everything out he told me in our September phone conversation detailing the history of the car, how it was a GM brass hat car specially built for the 1967 Aquatennial Parade in the special color. I now have true written documenation on the car which is something I have never had on any car I owned. He also found two old pics of other GM cars they processed but they were of Oldsmobiles, one a convertible from the 1950's. It was interesting to see how well wrapped the convertible tops were in those days, pretty much as today. If you guys want to see them I will post them but dont know how the forum is about posting non Pontiac pics.

Steve Grothajan is a gentleman and could not have been nicer to me. He also suggested that I contact the Aquatennial parade folks when the car is restored to see if they want it back in the parade again. Thats going to be a while from now for sure!

Wow. Very cool documentation.

This company Rayvic: what is it that they do? Do they prep new cars, or were they some other type of business that had ordered the car for the parade?

Keith, check out this post from a few mos ago and go to entry #19. It explains the Rayvic Company and what they did. Steve Grothjan told me recently that Rayvic was processing/prepping/storing cars up to the early 1990's for GM. Besides the history as a parade car and brass hat car, the Rayvic history and story is another great piece of history.

Wow, looks like you are getting another 3 ring binder for your documentation haha, how's the car coming along?

Hi Steve, good to hear from you, hope all is well.

Just buying little things for the car as the big parts will cost some $$ which is tight these days but eventually it will be restored and detailed just like my GTO was.

Mark, I saw your letter in the Smoke Signals this month. Looking forward to when you start the restoration project.

Havent recieved my issue yet and looking forward to checking out, thanks Stuart. If more funds were available I would be starting on the car right now and its killing me to have it sit idle. Someday soon.
