Default Offenhauser 360 dual "QUADRAJET" #5757

Has anyone ran an Offenhauser 360 high or low rise dual "Quadrajet" intake manifold?? How did it work? problems setting it up? I want to run one with "Mercruiser" marine q-jets on an old v-drive. Thanks for any imput ahead of time-Lee

Back in 70's a friend of mine tried one in a 68 GTO. At the time it was a 12.0 car. The GTO ran the same times as a factory intake and q-jet.

Thanks for your imput Bob, If these intakes were great and made more power, everybody would run them. I never even seen one, even in the sumitt catalog doesn't have a picture!!

Offenhauser has a ton of products on their web site. I honestly don't know anyone that's ever used any of their products though.

there are lots of guys that run and have run the offy 2-4 intakes,just very few if any run QJs.Tom

I have run the offenhauser 2x4 intake (not the quad) and my car ran very well.

Reason why I removed them is when I went to a show or cruise-in every car seemed to be going to 2x4's. I like to be different, so I went to a dominator Now I have something unique at the show and cruise-ins, not that dual quadrajets wouldn't be unique since everyone uses afb's and small holley's.

maybe Cliff R. will give me some imput. I already have two NOS "Mercury Marine Mercrusier' Q-JETS that are perfect for a boat. I didn't think that this intake would be so rare and more first hand knowledge would be so hard to come by. thanks for everyone's imput so far.........Lee

If you have less than 3.73 gears with a 389 or a 400 I would not run one!
Yes they run good, but they have very short runnners compared to a stock manifold and will kill off some 25 ft lbs of low end troque.
The short runners bring the peak torque band up to 3800 dependant on the CID of the motor.
For race use with a 3k or higher converter you do not feel the loss, but you will from off idle on the street!

In my 65 with a mild build 30 over 400, m21 4 speed, 3:90 rear, offenhauser 2x4 intake and 2 Edelbrock 600's, I could pull away from a dead stop on flat ground in 4th gear.

That's showing me some good torque, maybe some help from the 3:90.

I would put one on again in a minute.

Steve I don't know the gears size in the v-drive boat just yet, but the prop is a three blade with plenty of pitch, short older v-drive hull, flatbottom, 1962' vintage, 17.5 ft centerline. Fresh unfired-455+.35 0-decked -srp - pistons, with6S heads(100c's, 9.2 compr.), billet MSD ing.,comp XE274(1.65 roller rockers) rhoades, marine oil pan& pick-up, marine exhaust through-transom, mostly low rpm engine
