65 Tri Power question
On my 65 tri power center carb. There is a hole on the side of the top horn. When I got the car there was a screw plugging the hole. I removed the screw and stuck a wire in it. The wire came out at the top of the power piston. Should the hole be plugged, connected to something or do I have the wrong center carb. horn????

Posting a picture of the air horn would be best , even a camera Phone pic.

That is not the correct carb for a 65.

'64 and '65 have holes in the front carb air horn that connects to the vacuum linkage. the rear air horn hole isn't all the way through and no hole on center carb air horn.
i just capped the 90 on my front when i removed the vacuum setup. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...&pictureid=197 note: you're looking at '64 carbs on a '65 manifold. |

I had no vacuum connection on my 65. The front and rear carb. horn is like your rear carb. Just a small hole that does not go anywhere. I checked on my center carb and was told that it had a lead cap or plug in it at one time. Someone drilled it out and put a screw back into it. He told me to plug it with a hex screw with some epoxy around it which I did. I know if it is left open it sucks in vacuum. I know the rebuilding kits for original carbs fit these carbs. Also the gas lines are at the correct location.
