Why you would assume what someone does when they win an auction?

Its got a frame and a solid shell that needs quarters? No I didn't bid or get the inference just wondering...

With the parts available today, anything can be saved. We have restored much worse as have many folks on here. You might have $15K in metal and labor, but it can be done. Don't assume...and no I didn't buy it. Would have looked nice in line with my starlight and atoll cars someday though.

I remember back around 1981, there was a local guy here selling a silver 1970 Judge 4-speed RAIII, 35,000 original miles, original paint, just perfect condition, for $5,000. We passed because it was too much at the time. My friend ended up buying a mint 1970 W-30 442 4-speed with 30,000 miles for $4,800, and even that was a bit much at the time.

Now this is what $4,800 buys.

Orbit Orange factor increases the value (a little). 4speed, black interior helps.

Whether it gets re-shelled or not, 4800 is pretty strong money in today's market for something like that. Somebody really wanted an OO project.

I remember back when the total U.S. national debt was less than a Trillion dollars when President Carter left office in January, 1981. Total national debt when President Clinton left office in January, 2001 was 5.3 Trillion (just 10 short years ago). Total debt was 11 Trillion in January, 2009 (just 2 years ago). It's at 14 Trillion today. At this rate, this same basket case Judge will be worth a million bucks in 10 more years.

No true correlation of course, just trying to make a point.

If your point is political it doesn't belong here - take it to the clubhouse!
