I do know the trunk springs were set up for the spoiler, a friend was painting the car, and removed the spoiler. I hit the trunk release to get something from the trunk, and it about flew off the hinges!

I have a 69 with the cornering lights. Was this a rare option? Do you want more build sheets to add to your collection?

Larry,

Cornering lights are at 7%, higher than I would have thought as I hardly ever see them on cars. I notice that over half of them so equipped also have the hood and trunk lights so they probably ticked off the lighting group.

The challenge with them now is finding bulbs (I don't have the option on my GTO's but my LeMans, GP and Bonnie do)

What about a convertible that did not have a push button for the roof to go up? A manual roof set up has to be one of the rarest options out there...

All LeMans" and GTO's had standard power top, it was only optional on the Custom S convertible

Well, all I can say about the matter is that when my dad was restoring his convertible, and took the top off, there was no indication of there ever being a power system to the top nor was there a button in the dash for the top....leads me to think "why would someone delete that option?"

Maybe it wasn't a GTO, maybe a Custom S cloned into a GTO, or just a car that had parts changed on it over the years.

There was no way to delete a power top, it was standard equipment

Did it have the non power top frame, looked quite different, they have counterweight springs and locking tabs

242 on the VIN and Trim matching numbers on the cowling (near the heater). I'll ask him later...sadly he does not have the same pack-rat genes that I have, and threw the thing out, but he knows that when he bought the car in 86, there was no power top nor any indication that it came with it...Weird things like this pop up from time to time, as I remember a export Judge had everything deleted, including the heater!

A lot could of happened to these cars from 69 to 86, I remember parting a 69 GTO vert that had the whole interior from a 70 LeMans, dash and everything, found signs of an interior fire,

repetition, the first sign of dimentia

We both should be outside enjoying a summer Sunday instead of looking at a dumb screen, it's a beautiful sunny 80 degree day here, I'm going for a drive!

Tis a slow day at the airport....so I'm killing time and looking up all the random minutia that I once knew so well. Do you have numbers on the Heavy Duty Rubber Mats (or were those dealer installed) ?

If you mean the rubber trunk mat they were available both factory and dealer, on my GTO PHS collection they are at 1%. I actually have one in my Bonneville convertible that is on it's PHS, its a blueish grey.

I tried in an A body trunk and it is a bit big, but there is only one part number for A, B, G cars (not available on the F cars)

They cut them at the factory for the tire hold-down on my Bonneville, so maybe they trimmed them for an A body as well. I've never seen in person one in a GTO that had it on the buildsheet so who knows
