I do not Like Kanter so I do not know what they sell but in order for me to get the upper ball joint into the spindal, I use a floor jack under the lower control arm to compress the spring to raise the spindal up and push the upper ball joint down into the spindal.
Hope this helps.

If it wont go in, then they are wrong!! Call kanter & explain the issues with it. See what they say.

I'd take some measurements of the old one if you still have it. Thinking wrong size or different tapper. They sent me some wrong parts once and probably where ball joints. They made it right. I do remember that part of it.

I think that the degree of taper on ball joints is generally standardized (seems like it is 1/8" per inch?). However, if you get the wrong size they won't insert correctly.

Since you ordered parts for a 63, I would be curious as to what their part number is for the "incorrect" ones they sent you. I bought a 63 Kanter kit a couple years ago and I didn't have any fitment problems.

P.S. You can buy (from whom?) inserts to adapt smaller diameter ball joints to a larger sized spindle hole. The last time I saw these adapters listed they were about $20/pair as I recall.

The last ball joints I got from Vintage Auto Parts Denver Co. 800 426-5911 877 882-7462 The invoice says 1-$20.00 But it seems like I would have wanted a pair. 1 or a pair I thought it was a good price.
