Default End of the road for these two

Well, it was a sad day this past Friday morning as my two 62's made their final trip down the road to the smasher. I have spent many weeks taking each and every nut, bolt and part off of these cars so that they can go towards saving other cars. All that was left was rusty metal and bondo but it was still hard to let them go. I have always tried to save cars from this fate but these two were just too far gone. Here is some pics of the end.

x2. always sad to see one get scrapped but if too far gone, it's better to help others survive. The lower fender heel on one blue fender looked ok from the front side - maybe bondo on back...

My 61 wagon has just pieces cut out of fenders. Cut out the rust-scrap it-keep the fender

Yep, bondo everywhere. If I could save it I did.

Are they giving much money for crapping incomplete cars these days? It has been a long time since I sent one to the grave.

I think it was $225 a ton here in Kansas the day I went in with the two cars and to give you an idea how much I had taken off the cars and how rusty they were, I only got $180 for both cars and thats with some extra scrap steel thrown in.

Sometimes one (or in this case two) must die so that others may live.

Be strong brother!

I know the 62's are lite.
I ran mine over the scales with me in it
when it was a stock driver and only
weight around 2980 something or
was it 2890 something pretty lite.
It's making horsepower all ready. LOL

GT.
