Question Rear spring rate in a 1971 GTO?

I am taking out the moroso trick springs and installing a set of QA1 coil over springs[just the springs]. I am wondering what rate should I start with? The trick springs were 160lbs. so I bought 170lbs. springs,is that a good start?

I don't remember if you posted your weights before, but I used QA1 12" 150# springs in the rear of mine. My '71 weighed 3450#, 1500# on the rear.

Yes, when I still owned the car, I was running a welded-in ARB.

I installed 170lb 12" springs in my 72 lemans. Weighs in at 3875. It sits perfect in the rear and after cutting 1 coil out of the stock front springs pefect in the front. It's just an 11.90 car.

In the 67 I have 130lb 14" springs, Car weighs 3200lbs. I went with 14" springs on the 67 because 12" springs would just fall out when I jacked up the car.
