Default calling the H.V.A.C. guys...Goodman products?

aside from the band, i work p/t for a good friend installing heating/air conditioning.

we sell/ install goodman.

we seem to have to go back and repair alot of goodman stuff; leaky coils/condensers, whatever. sometimes they leak right out of the box.

anyone else notice this and which brands do you find the least trouble?

I think Goodman is made by Bryant.

I had a Furnace by Goodman, and an A/C unit...both were fine for many years.

We just installed a Goodman. No leaks yet. Isn't Goodman and Amana the same company now, or in the same company. I think we got a 14 SEER, I can't find the owners manual right now.

EDIT: I think we got a 16 SEER. SSX160301AA

Get a unit with Thermal expansion valve. Don't go with the model with fixed orifice opening only. You get better components with those models. Some say certain models have Copeland scroll motors which are better. A little research will lead you the way between some high end name like Amana and the feared by some Goodman.

Goodmans in my opinion are below average in all aspects. In the last year we have been installing luxaire, the bottom of the line stuff is okay, the higher end stuff is way better. The customer service from the distributor is unparalelled[American Air]. I install frigidaire on the side and have had good results for the 40 or so systems I have out there. From 1999 on carrier was everything, still love them to the day but we don't put in a whole lot these days. They have their problems but peirce phelps customer service sucks. Whatever brand you choose the quality of the install is what should take precedance.

trying this again.
we install goodman.
we have had alot of problems in the last few years with internal leaks.
has nothing to do with the install.
no rough handling either.
i'm asking if anyone else has had similar experiences with goodman.
thanks.

Sorry for my diatribe. But yes, thats why I don't install them. I've cracked the valves on them and oops no refrigerant. QC is horrible. Only had 1 carrier do that in 12 years. 3 goodman/amana in 8 months. No friggies but only put in a few dozen of them.
