Radiator Hoses
Cammer 6 and I both hate the wormy looking radiator hoses so I am looking for better ones.
I have found that a NAPA 7322 lower hose fits perfectly. I was sent a Tempest upper hose 8484 but I do not have a Tempest. I am looking for a upper hose for a FB with power steering. Any tips or part numbers? |

do yo have an old one to take to Napa and match up?
Ive had good luck doing that and cutting the section out of a hose to fit.

What I do have is the wormy ribbed hose that has been on there for 25 years. That's it.

Success!
I took a piece of card board and traced out the old crappy hose. The guy at NAPA (Thanks Bill) was nice enough to let me go back behind the counter and look through hundreds of hoses. This is what I found #8602 works well but you have to cut the ends off as the middle piece is what you want. IIRC it was $17 and looks a ton better. This is for Firebirds. |

Good Score
Your were on the right track.
The first pic shows the 8484 after it was cut to fit. Second pic is the overlay. 3rd pic is an NORS hose I found and the last pic is another hose I found that can work as you have done.

yep Ive done this many times, saving the NOS ones for the show cars only.
The other piece of mind is youre using fresh rubber not 40+ yr old stuff. now find some bypass hose thats GM and not fuel line.........

Didn't know the NOS looked like that Well I am hoping that the lower will be somewhat OEM correct and just fit. Now I just need to find a receptacle to catch all of the fluid and get some new radiator fluid. Thanks for the pics! Please keep them coming Marc |

I am afraid to ask but how much would a set of upper/lower NOS hoses cost for a 69FB Sprint.

Looking at your pic I think you would be fine as is.
I think your upper hose would not be the same as the A-body but not 100% sure. Your rad looks to be slightly wider left to right. I would concur with Cammer on the use of NOS hoses, not something I would use on a car driven.

I have never taken this car to a show and at this rate probably never will! LOL Even if I wanted to show it I am a looooooong way away from even getting somewhat close to the cars I have seen at those events. Mine is a driver. |

Your rad looks correct to me.
Also ran a quick search and looks like you’re not too far off with the consensus on the upper hose for FB.

since I have 2 68s not sure I want to let go of any 67-9 NOS hoses.
I think one of my 68s still has the ones it came with over 44 yrs ago
