This is going in my 31 pontiac coupe so I wanted it to pop and the hot rod mag cover that introduced these engines in 65 had them painted red and one of those was on display in the gm headquarters for years. I think it looks good

That is very cool... I would do an OHC-powered rod if I were building one. Red engine (and red brake drums visible thru rim slots) in a rod (esp if you have open hood sides!) looks boss.

Although I haven't searched other posts before asking this, what are the weak spots that need to be addressed when building a street-performing OHC?

The bottom ends are prety stout the big issue is the valve train you need to pay attention to valve height, cams are hard to get and nos lash adjusters and cam followers are much better than the available replacements. Clean oil is a must

Yes when I get it home I will be hilighting the fins with red also will replace the cam housing bolts with studs topped with chrome acorns. Any unused holes will get pollished button head bolts and will be getting the oil fill tube chromed
