What would this car be worth today? How many made with this combo?

It was probably a clone.
just my guess / opinion Muscle_Collector probably might have called on it back in 83 Could tell more if colors were given in description maybe. Steve Hoog has color info and other data on all 17 on his website. Fully restored concours 4spd time capsule sold out of Milt R's collection a couple years ago for i think around 250k. |

Funny I never even thought it might have been a clone, good point. Was doable back then.
I remember that auction, forgot the 71 was a 455HO.

Wow if it is real, but, for a clone back in '83, I wonder if someone would have still hunted down a WC block. I don't know if someone would have been that specific back then. There were 3 4-speed converts built. The red one that is now in Kevin Suydam's collection I believe was in Sweden at that time. The gold one that sold out of Milt's collection was musclecollector's before that. I think he had it a while. The third one was rumored to have been destroyed.

I'm thinking along the line that it was a 455HO GTO Vert with a Judge upgrade applied.
Could be a deeper involved makeover than that tho. In 83 there were plenty of 64 65 Lemans-to-GTO clones, and 69 70 71 GTO-to-Judge clones already. It was about easy to pull it off if you knew the cars. And sometimes almost impossible to dispute. Then we all got lucky in the late 80's. A whole lot of shet hit the fan hard when Invoices and Billing History Cards became available to the masses. It was ugly for a while. 64-65 GTO's and Judges were running about 50/50 real/fake in the first year of PHS operations. |
