Default MSD Ignition

I'd like to replace the distributor in my 474, the one I have now is a GM HEI that came with the car and is pretty worn. Looking at the MSD products, I'm looking at the ready to run (8528) unit. They also say it can be used with the 6AL box if desired. Is there any advantage to using the box other than the built in rev limiter? I've heard they can make starting easier (although this motor starts real easy) and improve idle and fuel economy. Is there any performance gain from the multiple spark units?

I have a 6AL in a car that I built a few years ago. The rev limiter works well. However, It was never an upgrade from anything so I can't tell you if its an improvement, but I can tell you it works well.

I have that same dizzy, and have had 2 module fail over 18 months.
I now have removed the module and use the pick up only and added a 6al box.
If your dizzy is one of the latter ones it will have a rev limiter built in to the module, so you don't need the box if you go that way.
