Thumbs up Got some ink in the new HPP

A lot of you on PY have followed along with my story of cancer etc and the story of my 2 Firebirds. I hope I have helped some people with the knowledge I have gained over the years.
Last April my friend Greg that gave me the Muncie, Q-jet and disk brakes from his '70 GTO told me I needed to get my story out because it was so cool and unusual. So I sent the idea to Tom Demauro and after about 6 months, it is now out in your mailboxes and news stands. I hope you all enjoy the article. Brent Flynn has posted this in the race section, but I thought I would share it here in the lobby.

and yes, Boater Bill took the pictures at the Cape Coral Boat ramp.

And I forgot to add, there are many of my Pontiac friends I have met here on PY that have had a huge impact on me and my car.

Thanks PY

Love the story Bill. And glad I got to meet you. Should be at Bradenton this Sunday for some TNT with the Catalina. I'll give you a call.

Jim

I saw it too. Hope your better man. I've learned a lot more about hospitals myself the last two years. Nothing close to your battles though. You got some steel in you. It was a nice piece in HPP. Did you toss the Phoenix after the crash?

After I finished Deuce enough to where I didn't need to pull parts like door latches etc., He went to a local scrapyard. I had thoughts of building into a full on race car, but the frame was crushed at the radiator core support and just not worth dealing with at the time.

the Cammer engine aka "The heart of Phoenix" suffered a better fate.
It will be going into a red 68 Firebird 4-speed that is originally a Sprint.

Just finished going over my copy...

I pray that you can get healthy and STAY healthy, and enjoy your finished car, and the car getting the OHC engine!!!

I've had health woes, but you've pretty much run the gammit on "how close can I get to dying" without checking out, Thank You Lord!!!

Jeff

I noticed that Deuce looked like "He" had Oklahoma plates in his original received condition...

I completely understand. You've got a full plate man. Here's to your old age. VERY old age. Cheers!

Yup, some 1977 Oklahoma plates that I still have. I'm guessing that is when the orginal 350 blew and just sat until I found it in a small Texas town beside the road.

Thanks guys for all of words and support!

I guess I missed the part about the Sprint engine going to another PY'er for him to install in his Sprint firebird. I wish I had the strength to do another car, but right now I don't.

God's perfect timing is always perfect...Having your cool 68 would be a dream come true for most of us "Pontiacaholics"....

Maybe "just" driving it around, when possible, and ruinating the rear tires, once in a while is all you need to be doing for the moment ...Nothing wrong, dreaming of your next build (dream on!!!)....I'm glad you live in Florida, having more chances at taking a drive in nice weather, even more than we have in Oklahoma.

I nearly lost my life to ulcerative colitis in 1978. Got home from the hospital in Feb. 1979, had major surgery. Second day home I took my, then low miles 77 T/A (in sig.) for a spin, I remember that very well....
