Could'ent tell you what the best one is. The only one I have used is SEM. So far, I think it's great.

Do you have to prime the part first

Prep is the key when repainting interior parts. SEM is the best because of all the factory colors they offer. you have to purchase it online or from a auto paint supply store Duplicolor also makes an interior dye, how ever It is also very duable. I also would suggest using SEM's plastic prep to remove any unwanted dirt, grease or oil of the part before painting. It is a clear liquid that is applied with a clean cloth. Here is an example of SEM's semi gloss back on a donor center console I redyed8 months ago for my 76 Firebird. I did not prime first either. And the finish looks as ggod as it did the day I sprayed it.

Nice color contrast, even the white gauges fit right in. Very clean.

SEM is great stuff. They will also custom match your color for free if they don't have it on file. You just need to send in a part for them to match to. The key for spraying vinyl or plastic is to clean it really good with a plastic prep and use an adhesion promoter. SEM has a complete line of products. I used Bulldog adhesion promoter on my pieces as I heard good thing about it.

Thanks! The interior is mostly original and was in great shape for a white interior when I bought the car. It just needed a very good cleaning and those sunpro gauges are a really nice finishing touch.

Thanks. Don't forget that the dyes can be used on metal parts of your interior too. I redyed my glove box door and stripped and redyed the face of my dashes ash tray. Adhesion promotor is a good idea too as 68bird400HO mentioned above.

Do you have any advice for plastic parts that that been painted already? This is for a 71 GTO and the parts are textured.

Which SEM product did you use to dye your console?
