I just sold a nos set of rear quarters for one of those, that car looks better than the car I sold also, and I sold it for more. Looks like a good find

Judging by the incorrect GTO decals and "350" badges, there's a good chance this could be a clone, but with the hood, scoop, and proper grille, it's already 98% there and would be an awesome project. Looks to be in superb shape at the price, hope someone jumps on this one!

Agreed. Doesn't take much to clone one of those cars. $50 gets you 4 correct decals, you already have the hood and grilles, just need the correct door panel emblem and the machine swirled dash insert and you have a clone! Car obviously has been painted at least once and the sail panel arrow head emblems have been removed and the holes covered up.

Would the VIN or body tag identify it as a real GTO, or do you need a PHS?

for brevity

The VIN will definitely tell you if its NOT a true GTO. The second letter in the vin could be either a Y or a Z, unlike the earlier A bodied GTO's, that doesn't give a definitive answer to the body style. The one that pretty much tells you that its a GTO is in the 5th spot of the vin which is the engine code spot. a "B" would be the 350 4bl dual exhaust code. That is supposably the only motor that was available for a 74 GTO.
The PHS would help also to verify it but if it has a B in the 5th spot of the vin, its more than likely a true GTO.

Are those GTO correct? The font seems wrong, letters look too rounded.
