Default WIW 74 gto

While looking for fenders for my 72 Ventura I found a guy that has a 1974 gto project for sale. It is red with white buckets. The only body work needed is rear quarters and lower fender patches. The owner sand blasted the underneath and subframe and painted undercarriage The suspension has new bushings and new brakes. Floors and trunk are perfect. Here are the options, Disc brakes, 4 speed, console and full gauges , 3:23 posi, air and rally wheels. It needs headliner and carpet. Buckets are redone and dash and dashpad perfect. Motor and trans missing. He is asking $3500.00. it seems about $1000.00 too much but I may sell my ventura project and put my 455 in this instead. I'm clueless about the valus of these cars. Thanks.. Bryan

Even at $3500, that sounds like a decent deal if all that work was done correctly and not hacked with new parts. Especially if the body is that solid. $2500 would be even a better.

Havent seen to many with 4spds.
Other options fairly common.
How much work vs your 72?

My 72 and the GTO both need the same amount of work. But I like the 71/72 style better. I had a 74 gto 350 3 speed hatchback 12 years ago. I wish I knew how rare the hatchback cars were.

Ah Hell, buy it and do both of them! I know a fool who re-did one 74 last year and is doing it again with another this winter/spring...

Pictures would be a big help in this (or any other) "what's it worth" situation

That said, I second Robb's opinion on price, depending on the quality of the work and how extensive the rust damage really is, $2500 - $3000 sounds like it's in the ballpark.

Are you confident it's a real GTO, vs a cloned Ventura? You'll certainly have more leverage if it's a clone.
