Jaguar V-12 FI engine.
I have for sale an absolutely complete Jaguar V-12 fuel injected engine. Not sure of the year. It has all lines, manifolds, wires. tubes, etc. Was gloing to put it in my 33 4-door sedan, along with the Jag IR rear and independent front end. I thought a little T50 5-speed would have been a really slick setup. But health has forced other constraints upon me. I think $800 for the engine is a fair price. The suspensions are also up for sale. $500 for both. Pontiaclarry@sbcglobal.net.

That engine, IFS & IRS would be pretty sweet in a rat rod. Or build a Lotus 7 kind of thing... Oh hey! I have a Jag IFS & IRS that I'm building a Lotus 7 kind of thing with! Only I'm going to Pontiac power it

Jag V-12 engine
I will post some pics of the engine. The suspension stuff is buried and would take quite a bit to get out in the open. Both front and rear units are absolutely complete, with full brake assemblies and all.

I thought you meant Formula 1. I guess it is fuel Injected instead.

Ummmm,
A good running V12 Jag is a delight to drive. Exhilarating is a good word for it. BUT Jag V12 engines are horrendously expensive to rebuild if they are off song. You could ask yourself why so many get ripped out of Jags and a 350 Chev engine gets planted in position. Ian

My wife had a XJS a few years back when we lived in Cuba (Mo.); the repair bills are jaw dropping. They are an animal to maintain. One of the problems is the under hood heat; they cook their hoses (including vacuum) and usually need them all replaced every two years -

If I'd known back in April Larry, I'd have bought the Jag IRS. But now I'm flat asd broke.

lame is the word that comes to mind. also slow, torqueless, inadequate. very smooth though. i drove an E-jag with one, though it was an automatic (SUPER LAME!) and it was snappier but still not fast.

V-12 jag engine
I appreciate appropriately informative and helpful comments, even if one has no interest in purchasing an item. However, if you itinerant pundits have no interest in the purchase of this engine and deem it necessary to make disparaging remarks, then please keep your comments to yourself. Or do you have uncontrollable compulsions to hear yourself spew out senseless and pointless babble?

anyone involved with jags knows that. that's not senseless, pointless, or babble. your asking price seems reasonable, and it'll make a very smooth and impressive looking install in something not a jag, but those who mention high complexity, upkeep & parts costs are correct, and what i noted is also true. PY guys tend to look out for each other here. sorry if you don't like that.

150 is nice but nothing special these days and it'd take a week for an xjs to get there.
i'm not busting on the car; my MOMMY had one (actually a few over the years) and i thrashed the snot out of 'em all and i'm sorry, they ain't quick. they're great cars to drive, i'm not busting on the xjs in any fashion. most elegant, composed, comfy car of it's era. i stand by my declaration of non-exhilarating though.

These days 150 is common, but in the 1980s it was. The Corvettes/Porsches would barely break that. I'm not a fan of it, but my wife loved it.
