We need a lot more information to give you an informed idea. Options? Original drivetrain? Rust? Any extra parts with it? Does it run and drive? How many original parts are missing? Color?

I doubt you can even buy a rusted out hulk with no drivetrain for $1000 if it is a real T/A, but maybe you will get a deal!

all depends on alot of things.
i bought a 71 4 speed, matching block, only missing the heads(were left at machine shop and not checked on for months, when he went back they were closed down), white, blue standard interior, honeycomb wheels, all other parts correct, but rear frames were gone, lower fenders were saveable, hood good. 800.00, best money i ever spent. CONDITION dictates price a complete scoop can go 500+ air pan 250-500 carb 1000-3000 fenders 250-1000 a piece block WC 455 HO-1000+ correct matching block-can add many thousands to the value of a car so the car could be worth 4000-10000 in parts depending on condition.

I say if it is a real TA and has all the parts, and all means all, but needs metal work (most do if never restored) and full restoration/paint engine drivetrain rebuild etc.., it is still worth 10 grand. There just aren't that many 71 TA's left in unrestored condition... The '71's are the best value in early 2nd gens in my opinion. Fastest of the round ports, you would pay the same for a RAlll 1970 in similar condition and the HO will eat the lll's lunch( and I have one of each..so I am not dis'ing the RAlll's).. also depends how much of the work you plan on doing yourself.. And as another member posted..original fenders, hood etc are so important.. Start sourcing parts and you can spend 10-15 easily in parts alone.. Good luck..
