Default Repro real wheel well moldings...

Has anyone had any experience with them and how is the quality as well as fit and finish? I know Ames rates them as excellent and so does PY but curious to know more.

I have only test fit mine but seemed to fit surprisingly well.

Got mine from PY no issue's with fit. Are you doing or had the 1/4's worked on?

Mine are originals that have too many holes from mudflaps ages ago that are on a 13 year old restoration that had new quarter skins installed so I guess I should be fine. I was going to find some originals but they are kinda pricey these days and then they all need polishing and ding removal.

Mark, you will find that the holes don't line up when you install the repros,
but this was true when you swapped out for an original molding as well. They never got
the holes in the exact same place from the factory.

Has anyone had these installed and in use for more than 4-5 years? I would like to know how they are holding up finish-wise.

I have them on mine for 3 years now, all 4. No problem with holes lining up and they still look like the day I put them on. Quite happy with them.

Default Wheel Well Mouldings

Bought new ones (repos) from Ames. From what I understand the restoration shop had quite a time fitting them to the rear quarters. I had to have new rear quarters put on our's for the second time after another shop screwed them up. But the front fenders were original. I think they fit pretty good on them. I'd like to find the correct (color) screws for them though!!! They gigged me for having chrome screws in them at Dayton. The Judge put a note on the score sheet that the right one's were (dark)???? Most of the places I've looked for them are chrome.

Tom, the judge is full of BS......My car came with chrome screws from the
factory, as did every one of these cars I've ever seen. the correct screws are very short with very small, thin, round phillips heads on them.

Default Moulding Screws

gtohurstjudge----that's what I'm sort of thinking too!!!! But there are different style screws out there available in chrome. I bought some from OPGI. Not thinking that they would send some with the Wheel Well Mouldings I purchased from Ames. They were two different style screws.

I have used several sets in my shop over last couple years on 69 GTO's and they are excellent.

Can you post a picture of both of the types of screws you bought and I will tell you if either of them
is correct.
