The car arrived today and I spent the afternoon checking it out. I am more than pleased with the car. It definitely is all original sheetmetal and mostly original paint, lots of patina. 5 matching KR's all with the same stamps. It is matching #'s front to back. It even has the trunk extensions intact. It is missing the rt rear 'snubber' bracket and rubber. Any one know where to source a correct one?

The unit ignition appears to be a 73 and I'm undecided whether to install it or not. I guess my 1st move would to send it out for diagnosis to determine whether it's usable.

The car came with a box of NOS parts in the wrapper including rear tail lamp lenses and bezels, side marker lenses, door weatherstrips, & a full set of stripes.

Cleaned it up today. Used the clay bar to remove surface dirt. Next is wet sand and polish.

Heater core sprung a leak. Looks like a total pita to get to...I guess the Florida climate got to it.

Default congrats

great car, I have a 71 TA, from Van Nuys plant, same way when I got it. It has blue deluxe, non a/c, also has tilt, not on phs.

Nice car and white on white is sweet.

But, are you saying the engine compartment is survivor status?

I only ask because the paint appears to be 70 metallic, bare intake and chrome valve covers. Looks like a early 71 build, so not sure on those engine things from a HO standpoint....

Mike,

Engine compartment has chrome valve covers and bare intake which I understand are not correct. It was a 9C build so yes, its an early 72.

The paint, stripes, quarters, doors, and fenders are original. It appears to have had some spot repair here and there over the years. My understanding is 72 was lacquer paint but I'm no expert.

Darn, I was hoping there was an instance of that being correct. Car looks so original!

I think some prefer that look including me...Wonder how many pennies they saved?
