Default Need tach advice

I am not sure if I am posting this in the right section. I have recently restored a 65 GTO convertible which originally had Rally gauges. The tach is the only part left of the gauge set that is in good condition, I converted my car back to standard gauge set. My car has a 389 with automatic. I want to keep tabs on the engine rpm and I would like to install the tach in the far right clock pod. My replacement harness is set up for the rally gauges and if I remember correctly the brown wire is for the tach. Anyone see any problems with my plan? Thanks

Brown is the tach, at least on a '67......confirm that's where your brown wire goes, i.e. to the (-) side of the coil.

You should be good to go, add light bulbs and insure ground to metal is good.
